What does a Roomie design package look like? What does it include?

Based on the information, images and inspiration you provide, we create you custom design plan. This is your roadmap to design success! Your project will be delivered via email in PDF format, and contains our design direction for your space including paint colours, a scaled floor plan, ​and budget, helping you visualise the finished room.

You will also gain access to a private pinterest board, which is your personalised shopping list – including all the information, pricing and live links to your design details. Head over to our services page where you can choose the perfect Roomie package for your needs.​

How do i know if online decorating is right for me?

Online decorating is a great choice for you if you are comfortable shopping online and in local stores, or rearranging your room according to a handy custom floorplan. If you’re self motivated enough to head to the paint store or navigate an online store, you can definitely follow our mood board suggestions from start to finish. Just click, order, follow our how-tos, or work on the projects at your own pace. Then, mix it up with your favourite pieces, and sooner than you think you’ll have a brand new room that totally matches your personality. Best of all, it’s great for those with a small budget, who want to put more into their stuff, and less into services.

When will I get my Roomie design?

Room Service Package has a turn around of 2 weeks. Some online decorators have a quicker turn around but here at Roomie we believe good things take time, and this time frame allows us to consider the design, source exciting new products and have a bit of fun space planning (yes we are space planning geeks!)

What if i don’t love my design plan? What is your refund policy?

Roomie packages are designed as a go-to guide for your space. We work with the information that you give us, and strive to provide the best solution possible for your space and budget. If something is not right, we are happy to revisit any project, up to one design or specification revision, free of charge. Say you like the Scandinavian style nursery design but feel you would like more vibrant colour way, no problem, we can make changes to add colour pops. Don’t worry, you won’t hurt our feelings, after all – it’s your space not ours!

If you feel for any reason that we have missed the mark, or if there is any portion of your design that you don’t like or don’t understand just let us know, we are happy to help answer questions relating to the original design. If you have any new questions or need help with other rooms then we are happy to advise you of our hourly rate, or email reply cost.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Roomie Design packages are a great gift – your daughter may be having a baby and you want to gift her a nursery makeover, or your parents may be downsizing and need some new inspiration for repurposing their furniture into that new apartment! Once we receive payment, we’ll provide you with a printable personalised certificate so you have something physical to slide into a wedding card or place under the christmas tree. We are also happy to post these on behalf, with a beautiful card free of charge. Email us for more info.

I need more help – do you offer a styling service?

Yes, if you live in the greater Auckland area we can come to you. Our Room Styling package is a great option if you need a little more help pulling your room together.

I don’t want to spend a lot of money, are there economical design solutions?

Yes! One of the greatest benefits of online decorating is that’s it’s very cost-effective. We have hundreds of economical design solutions and we always try to offer advice based on your budget requirements. We ask you upfront what you would like to spend on your overall design, and we base our design recommendations on your decorating budget.

None of these packages fit my needs. Are there other options?

If you’re unsure which package is right for your needs or have a prospective project that doesn’t fit into one of our tiered packages, send us an email! We’ll figure out where you fit or create a custom set of services and quote.

I am not very confident with emails – can I still access the Roomie services?

Yes – we can work together with phone calls and snail mail. Both our questionnaire and your completed design can be printed and sent to you. Call us!
