Beneath the Stillness, Sophie Melville

  • May 9, 2019

Residing in Wanaka, and inspired by the surrounding lakes and mountains, Sophie Melville has been producing beautiful watercolour pieces since 2015, while focusing on a slower pace of life and enjoying the beauty around her.  With two releases each year, she still remains prolific in her chosen media, often using unconventional methods such as dried grasses and wide brushes, always producting her best work when she feels balanced and content.

Sophie introduced us to her work in 2015 and it has been lovely to watch her grow and challenge herself within her art and her profile as an artist. You can catch her latest work in a solo exhibition named Beneath the Stillness, on from the 17th to the 30th of May at Gallery De Novo in Dunedin.
