The weather seems to seriously effect our mood here in NZ at this time of year, there have been some tantalisingly summery days lately – so we thought we would whet your whistle with a little celebration of the humble cocktail. And what is the number one accessory for happy hour?
Coasters of course!
Well, not just any coasters, we have teamed up with Coastermatic to bring you exclusive Roomie coasters.
Coastermatic is the brain child of Tash Wong and Tom Harman – interaction designers (ok, can’t explain what that is – you will have to go here) who created the company as grads student in New York. Coastermatic is a site dedicated to turning your instagram pics into sandstone coasters – a perfect gift and a great dinner table conversation starter. Coastermatic has since moved to Hawaii, and become a full time gig for Tash, who is, dare we say it, a little coaster mad!
These exclusive coasters were designed in collaboration with MCS Studio, and produced at the Coastermatic Manufacturing HQ. The patterned image has been set on sandstone coasters by the magic of inkjet printing. It’s serious stuff!
These coasters will be available to purchase on the Coastermatic online store in due course – a little piece of NZ on coffee tables and bars all round the world! Super.
Thanks to Coastermatic, we have two sets to giveaway. Hurrah! There are four coasters with Pink, Green, Blue and White featured colour, they are 100mm in diameter and 10mm thick.
Here’s how to enter: Show us (or tell us about) a photo that you would love to have made into coasters – there are several ways you can do this:
- Hashtag a favourite photo on Instagram #roomiecoasters
- Upload a pic onto our facebook page
- Comment on this blog post, or our Facebook page and tell us all about your photo
You can enter as many times as you like, it’s open to NZers only, and it will be drawn at random next Friday 18th
Of course – we had to create a little celebratory Pinterest board – an ode to the sundowner, and here is a favourite recipe of ours to get you in the coastermatic mood.
Lemon Sparkler, made with white wine, a lemon, & sparkling water. Garnished with mint and a cocktail umbrella for an excellent summer cocktail.
Here’s how to make it: Fill a Picardie glass or Stemless wine glass with ice, add a wedge and a squeeze of fresh lemon, a spring of mint, fill half with icy cold white wine (or rose) and top with sparkling water. Yum!
