Every now and again we come across a clever concept that gets us excited about the innovative designers that we have in New Zealand, and in the world of online design.
So when Virginia from Pattern Snap emailed us, we thought her concept was not only clever, but long overdue. Pattern Snap is a free interior design app which lets the user ‘snap’ an image of a pattern, and the closest match is the Patternsnap database is located.
Woah. Very Cool.
The app then displays digital samples in high res, and includes colourways and details. This is a fast and functional way to match wallpapers, fabrics, tile patterns to product available from companies worldwide.
Virginia, a trained architect who hails from Nelson, travelled the world to connect with fabric and wallpaper companies, and released the initial Patternsnap in 2013, with a handful of companies onboard.
Since then it has grown to over 50,000 samples with more than 130 companies onboard, including Roomie favourites Signature Prints and Cole & Sons.
Patternsnap is a pretty fun tool for sourcing initial fabric and wallpaper choices, and a perfect solution for the professional interior design, home renovators, or anyone with a passion for pattern.
